Best Mall

Malls are for shopping. Not for ice skating, not for movie-watching, not for a stand-in for daycare. While such activities can indeed be fun and novel at a mall (cf. the Ice Zone at St. Louis Mills), they are, quite simply, beside the point. Entirely devoid of theaters and ice rinks, Westfield Shoppingtown West County is a great place to buy stuff. The sole distractions from the task at hand are a modest children's play area at the mall's south end, a food court and two sit-down restaurants. The area's only Nordstrom provides service and selection unmatched locally; likewise uniquely sited are the area's only Apple Store, Sephora and Torrid. Sports enthusiasts shouldn't miss Galyan's at the south end -- buy a kayak! at the mall! -- while those in need of primping and pampering can get their fix at the Anthony Vince Aveda Salon and Spa.
