Best Dive Bar

Cheap beer and dimly lit rooms are the cornerstones of a proper dive bar, and El Lenador disrupts the status quo with its wood-paneled walls and carpeted floors. The classic German décor looks jarring at first, but this Cherokee Street bar comes packed full of odd charm. Check your attitude at the door and hit the dance floor, as El Lenador often hosts live music. El Lenador features a revolving door of special events, but none quite as reliable as Stag Nite on Wednesdays. Intoxication on the cheap makes this spot a hip watering hole and a perfect dive for penny pinchers. The food is simple and the drink list is limited, but the low price and friendly staff make return visits a no-brainer.
