Best Bowling Lanes

Hazelwood Bowl needn't rely on the cover of darkness and the flash of strobes. While other lanes have little more to offer than such "cosmic" bowling, showing their age in crumbling, dated motifs and elderly rental footwear, this ten-pin alley boasts a vintage style that is as classy and well-maintained as a Mad Men set on Botox. The prices are of another era, too: Shoe rental's $2.50, and while Friday- and Saturday-night prices are $3.50 per game, there are specials and happy hours that knock down the per-game cost as low as a buck-fifty. Come for a pin-topplin' good time, stay for the cheap drinks and karaoke (on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings).
