Best Way To Crash A Showbox Performance

A common misconception is that only concertgoers are admitted to the bar housed within the Showbox. But all you actually need to enter the Green Room is an I.D. A bouncer keeps an eye on bar patrons to make sure they don't sneak into the performance space, but don't let that deter you. A surprising number of people show up at the venue with extra tickets. Friends flake, relationships break, and lonely music writers can be hard-pressed to find someone to accompany them to a Monday-night concert. These people can often be found sitting solo in the Green Room or smoking cigarettes just outside it during the opening act's set. Next time you see one, mosey over and strike up a conversation. More often than not, they'll be happy to escort you into the show as a last-minute guest.-Erika Hobart
