Discovery Park
3801 W. Government Way, Seattle, WA 98199
(206) 386-4236
The one with the name best suited to describe it: Discovery. Encompassing 534 acres in Magnolia on bluffs overlooking Puget Sound, the park is so vast and includes such varied terrain that it's possible to encounter new trails, vistas, and wildlife on each visit. Highlights include two miles of tidal beaches, breathtaking views of both the Olympics and the Cascades, and a massive meadow that erupts in color when wildflowers are in bloom. There's also a picturesque lighthouse (currently under renovation), tennis courts, a children's play area, and the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, home of the Seafair Indian Days Powwow.
