Best Place To Jump On The Retro-Chic Hipster Bandwagon

Be honest. Sometimes you see those hipsters walking around with their pin-up bangs and vintage cardigans and '70s-style ties and you think, "That is so adorable!" The fact is, you can only be a hipster-hater for so long before you kind of start thinking about cutting your hair to look like Bettie Page and wearing something with big ironic polka dots. That's when you need Anna "Banana" Lange. With her muse Audrey Hepburn watching over you from the wall, she will guide you painlessly into a new wardrobe at Pretty Parlor on Capitol Hill. The Parlor's fashion sense is inspired by the '70s with an eye toward the classic-Lange calls it Hepburn meets Judy Jetson. It showcases local designers as well as Lange's own line, House of Pretty Parlor. The clothing is at once trendy enough to blend seamlessly into Broadway, but high-quality enough to feel as though you haven't completely succumbed to the artful carelessness that makes some hipsters so obnoxious.-Laura Onstot
