Best Percussion Face-Off

As a preview to their first-ever Sasquatch! set, Canadian experimentalists Caribou played to a sold-out crowd at Neumos on May 27. During the set, the band's mastermind, Dan Snaith, moved among vox (with two microphones), guitar, synth, a little white flute, and, most epically, drums. With his kit set face-to-face against that of his touring drummer, Brad Weber, the two kicked and clashed, exploding with precision, complexity, and loud, thumping rhythm-mind-boggling, but also perfect for a hot and heavy dance floor. -Erin K.
