Best Outdoor Drinking

Outside of the replica longhouse that is Ivar's Salmon House, the deck flanks the tail end of Lake Union on its way to Portage Bay. Festooned with flowers and a terrific view of the Seattle skyline, it's a great spot to chill out under an umbrella and watch the boats cruise by (or stop for a snack even, as Ivar's still allows boats to tie up to the barge in front of the deck). Ivar's is particularly famous for its happy hour, and the Salmon House offers a seven-day-a-week happy hour from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to close. Maybe if you're lucky, you can buy a sailor a beer.
