Tug Inn
2216 SW Orchard St., Seattle, WA 98106
(206) 768-8852
Tell the average West Seattleite that you've actually entered the Tug's doors, and his or her natural response will be, “Ooohhh, I've always wondered what it's like in there.” The bar's Web site acknowledges its ominous reputation: "The Tug has been known as a dive bar that is full of violent and crazy drunks. This reputation is completely false. The Tug is full of middle to older aged customers who like to come in and enjoy good music while they drink...You'll feel as if you are at a house party, but without all the clean up at the end!" Once you get your bearings, it's not scary at all. The "house party" description is spot-on; everyone here seems to know one another really well (maybe too well), and the decor is reminiscent of a garage refurbished to serve as a party room, with the driveway doubling as a sundeck.
