Though the Comet has changed owners once more, its wicked resident booking agent DJ Mama Casserole, who has a knack for putting together some of the best shows in town, still reigns supreme: The venue offers live music seven nights a week and is not afraid to host notoriously-destructive bands like Monotonix (though Mama's roster includes everything from folk, to psychedelic rock, to ambient music, to hip hop). The Comet's stayed true to its original rough-around-the-edges charm--it’s even made Maxim's list of the top ten dive bars in the country.
