Best Hipster Bar To Withstand Trends

New bars constantly come and go on Capitol Hill, but Linda's Tavern is still sitting pretty after celebrating its sweet 16 this year. The once cash-and-beer-only establishment has seen a few changes-it now accepts credit cards and houses a full bar and kitchen, and the jukebox plays CDs instead of vinyl. But nightlife guru Linda Derschang has also held on to the qualities that made her tavern so popular upon inception: ironic Northwest decor, cheap-ass drinks, and a happy hour (7–9 p.m.) that complements concertgoers' schedules. The surest sign that Linda's is here to stay: The neighborhood's next generation has deemed it their designated drinking spot.
