It's a good sign when a restaurant has a separate, full-page menu of its beer offerings. At Brouwer's Cafe in Fremont, the extensive selection of domestics and imports includes 60-plus beers on tap, plus cask beer, kegs on nitro, and hundreds of choices by the bottle. They have dozens of styles of glassware to match the various styles of beer, and they change their tap lines with every new keg. That's a serious level of commitment to brew. The industrial beer-hall setting is home to beer festivals throughout the year, and their Eurocentric menu nicely complements the beverage selection. Items like steak frites, croque monsieurs, and mussels and frites makes Brouwer's feel more Flemish than Fremont. But being located in the center of the universe certainly doesn't hurt.
