    The Shore

One of Downtown San Clemente's newest restaurants is actually updated from an old one (Shore House Café). A margarita is the libation of choice, and the ahi salad is the thing to nibble. Sweet-potato fries, burgers-all the crowd-pleasers are... More on The Shore »

  • Ostioneria Playas De Sinaloa

    Ostioneria Playas De Sinaloa

Playas de Sinaloa is like most any other Sinaloa-style seafood restaurant-cheesy décor, light provided by neon beer signs, buxom waitresses in impossibly tight skirts and shirts that respectively rise too high and sink too low. But you're here... More on Ostioneria Playas De Sinaloa »

    Knucklehead's

  • Buffalo Wild Wings

    Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in 1982 when a guy from Buffalo, New York traveled to Ohio to judge an amateur figure skating competition and failed to find any wings that measured up to the ones at home. Now B-Dubs, as it likes to call itself,... More on Buffalo Wild Wings »

  • Commonwealth Lounge

    Commonwealth Lounge

This downtown spot has successfully separated itself from the herd of local sud-slingers with unique aesthetic flourishes. Remarkably, the bar itself is table high, and patrons are seated in cushy, broad-backed chairs. The recessed liquor shelves... More on Commonwealth Lounge »

  • Villa Nova

    Villa Nova

You must know where this place is already. Drive down PCH in Newport and you can't miss it. It's big, grand, like a palace among shacks. You must also know that there is music and dancing and Italian food of the romantic variety, whatever that means. More on Villa Nova »

Food Trucks

  • Dogzilla Hot Dogs

    Dogzilla Hot Dogs

Dogzilla is a food truck that sells hot dogs. The great thing about Dogzilla's Asian-inspired hot dog is that their structural integrity remain: the noodles stay in place, the wiener doesn't slip, the bun soaks up everything but doesn't turn into... More on Dogzilla Hot Dogs »

  • Los Reyes Del Elote

    Los Reyes Del Elote

Though they sell tacos, tortas, burritos and even raspados, the emphasis at this taco truck is on roasted corn-take a cue from the squat, dark man flipping cobs on a grill as if they were flapjacks. And keep some room for esquite, a wondrous... More on Los Reyes Del Elote »

    • Anyone who went to Portola Coffee Lab after they opened their cafe in the OC Mix in Costa Mesa knows Jeff Clinard. He was as much a fixture there as Jeff and Christa Duggan, the owners; he presided over the place much of the time, and was one of the friendly, approachable faces to what was an overwhelming paradigm shift in how coffee is made. Suddenly, he disappeared. Clinard lives in San Clemente with his young family, and wanted to stay a little closer to home. He resurfaced with his own brand, Bear Coast Coffee. Like Portola, Bear Coast... More on The Cellar »

    • Edwin Goei writes for OC Weekly

OC doesn't have its own Thai Town, but this doesn't mean that we don't have great Thai restaurants. It only means that the ones we have are scattered throughout our fair county--the proverbial Easter eggs waiting to be found. Some of the greatest--Coconut Rabbit in Los Alamitos, Sutha Thai in Tustin and Tasty Thai in Lake Forest--are still waiting to be discovered. And then there's Rocharin Thai in Seal Beach, which isn't hard to find if you've ever decided to take the PCH scenic route instead of the 405 from Long Beach to Orange County....
