They've stepped it up further in 2011, adding freshly made tortillas to their retinue (after an embarrassing experience with Bill Esparza of Street Gourmet LA--ask them about it!) of heirloom tomato pico de gallo, the freshest cuts of meat imaginable (because the Zambrano boyos who run this also help run their family's carnicería) and combining their ingredients into fat, gorgeous tacos. Carne asada seeps bovine beauty; the veggie option finds onions and peppers sauteed to the point of caramelization; chicken is actually juicy and flavorful, and not the boring nubs of too many steam trays. They'll make a quesadilla from sharp queso añejo, shrimp tacos for a summer day, and burn your ass when you're not paying attention for their seemingly tame, actually brutal yellow salsa. And all the while they do it with smiles and fast AND crack jokes and blast music while they're at it.
