Best Sports Bar

Stationed just a short drive from the Big A and Honda Center, Danny K's Billiards & Sports Bar is a green monster Angel fans need not fret over, especially come playoff time. The warehouse-sized establishment owned by Danny Kuykendall is long on pool tables and wide on HD flat-screens. Among the 33 televisions showing the sporting events of the day are five glowing, 14-foot behemoths that you wish you could take home and set up in the living room. While gazes are fixated on the games, the waitresses at Danny K's serve a menu of classic sports-bar favorites. Touchdown pizzas are worthy of an "Ickey Shuffle," and the Snooker Platter's claim to be "food enough for two" is a bit of an understatement for this pile of fried delights. A wide selection of domestic and premium beers are on tap, waiting to be poured into pint glasses or 25-ounce mugs and promptly guzzled down. In the end, the best thing Danny K's has going for it is its spaciousness. The parking lot always feels more crowded than inside, even during big-game days. A little elbow room is always good, whether you're Andrew Bynum in the post or watching him on one of those glorious flat-screens.
