Best Spa

Montanya Spa is a place where godawful spa clichés come from. It is a hidden gem, a Zen-like oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle, a peaceful escape. And we're hooked. There's something restorative about sitting with a mimosa on the bamboo-enrobed patio of a haven inspired by a Japanese tea house, watching vibrant water lilies float near a Buddha statue and awaiting invigorating treatments such as a Thai yoga massage ($125 for 75 minutes), sea-salt body glow ($70) or South Pacific hot-stone therapy ($135 for 75 minutes). It's enough to melt away the cares of even the biggest grumps—and frazzled journalists. . . .
