Diamonds Billiard Club provides these things, and then some, including faux-finished columns and leopard-print carpeting that loudly proclaim Las Vegas hotel kitsch. Located on a second-story floor overlooking Birch Street, this spot features 12 beige, 9-foot Brunswick tables—enough to ensure that even on a busy night, everyone, from sharks to guppies, has a shot at getting a table. And the room is cavernous, allowing ample space between tables, mitigating the incessant elbow-bumping one experiences when shooting stick at smaller joints. It also features a fleet of pretty, attentive waitresses who are quick to take drink orders and hoist food trays tableside. The walls sport small alcoves outfitted with cushioned benches for those just wanting to grab a drink while friends finish a game, and the wood-adorned, circular bar is equipped with a full complement of liquors and a moderate selection of brews on tap. If you're just interested in playing pool, go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Table rates Sunday through Thursday are $6 before 8 p.m. and $12 after. On weekends, the hourly rate jumps from $7.50 to $15 after 8 p.m.
