Yeah, we named it Best Deli in this issue as well, but as the Police song goes, two hearts beat as one—wait, that was U2, and that's a horrible joke. But, really, there's no excuse needed for the double dipping. Hollingshead's was stocking rare craft brews for OC long before it became a trend, and it's still at it, with an amazing array of canned beer, beer on tap and bottles that belies its comfy environs. And this blurb is also a way to honor the memory of Ken Hollingshead Sr., the founder and patriarch who passed away this September in his sleep. His son and grandson continue to run the spot—next year is its 50th anniversary, and may Ken Sr. be hoisting pints with St. Peter up in heaven in celebration.
