Toy Tokyo is not really a toy store for those who like to play with their toys. This is a collector's paradise, where you can find rare Japanese monsters, vintage Star Wars dolls, and other oddball collectibles (such as a set of 12-inch figurines of the French electronic duo Daft Punk for $320). Even if you're not in the market for a three-foot-high Jack Skellington doll from The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's incredibly fun to browse the aisles and take a trip down memory lane. Remember how much fun you used to have with He-Man? Hello Kitty? G.I. Joe? Well, all your old friends are here waiting for you to take them home again. Toy Tokyo also carries contemporary designer toys, such as the weird works of graffiti artists Ron English and KAWS and the Uglydolls brand. If you're not ready for an investment, start small with cute key chains, stickers, or a tiny Japanese monster from the dollar machine.
