Deva Spa
425 Broome St., New York, NY 10013
Soho is probably the least relaxing spot in New York. Annoying tourists, busy shoppers, the slew of cabs—you wouldn't think there's a serene cove in the neighborhood, but there is. It's a place that carries us away to a tropical seclusion all our own, so we're happy to name Deva Spa our best spa of 2012. Its "Total Devachan Experience" caters to your every grooming need (hair, makeup, nails). The spa itself is located downstairs in a peaceful and quiet place that features a relaxation room (with waterfall, reclining chairs, blankets, tea, reading materials—and no cell service). There's also a locker room equipped with showers, plus hair products. But yes, the best is the list of massages. We recommend the "Nifty Fifty," a combination of Swedish and deep-tissue massage focusing on the areas of your choice. Once you walk out, you won't even feel the tension all around you. 425 Broome Street, 646-454-4300, devachansalon.com (10013)
