Best Shoe Store

This little bodega of footwear packs such a kick that we had to "best" it for the second year in a row. And where do we even begin? With its rotating roster of sales on names like Toms, Clarks, and Minnetonka? With the uncanny fact that whenever this unpretentious shop stocks a design, it seems to pop up in other not-so-unpretentious boutiques along Bedford Avenue about five to 10 weeks later? The true brilliance here is that even though the small size of Williamsburg's Shoe Market prevents any really wide selection, each pair seems chosen with a careful and seasoned eye, making for an almost diabolically tempting collection of boots, wedges, flats, and sandals. After opening its mother store in Mini Mini Market (back when "you couldn't even get a taxi to take you to Williamsburg"), owners Dana Schwister and Erika Vala retail-birthed this all-shoe offspring in 2007.
