This sliver of a shop—a mess of ink stamps, wood blocks, strips of rubber, and boxes—is fun not just for flipping through the catalogs of stamp designs (ranging from $2.50 to $9) but also for chatting up the pleasant owner J.C. Casey, who rattles off quips in a thick Irish brogue. All stamps are handmade from real red rubber, not plastic, and there are more than a thousand images to design your stationery with, from skulls to hummingbirds to flowers to illustrations from the second edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Casey also does business stamps, or you can bring in your own artwork (prices start at $20 for a one-square-inch stamp)—there's nothing he can't do.
