A little Brit invention called the gastropub—in which the bar food is ramped up to foodie standards, and, in addition, good wine and microbrews are ostentatiously offered—has taken Gotham by storm over the past five years, and its most perfect evocation lies at the Jones Wood Foundry, a warren of ancient rooms that were once a 19th-century hardware store and iron foundry.
