Still, we have to admit we're fans of the new radio frequency identification (RFID) system being employed at Izzy's, which gives customers real-time access to the status of every flavor in the case. With 32 choices available each day, there's no reason that one can't just wander into the shop and find something to satisfy. But for fans of elusive flavors, RFID is an excellent way to track the comings and goings of the season's first pumpkin, the rarely seen dark chocolate with umeshu Japanese plum wine, or the similarly scarce Chubby Bunny. Say you haven't indulged in that famous cinnamon-and-nutmeg ice cream with carrot cake chunks and cream cheese frosting since it won the People's Choice Award back in 2004.
