Besides the vast selection, the always helpful and knowledgeable staff, and an impressive collection of rare and collectible books, the store also conducts an amazingly vigorous program of readings and discussions by local and nationally known writers such as Tea Obreht (The Tiger's Wife), Greil Marcus (The Old, Weird America: The World of Bob Dylan's Basement Tapes), and Russell Banks (Lost Memory of Skin).
