In a place as bike-crazy as the Twin Cities, it makes sense that the array of bike shops to be found is almost as diverse as the group of people doing the riding. Choosing the right shop can be as tricky as finding the perfect steed, an inexact science that requires the right mix of comfort, feel, and reliability. Penn Cycle has a pretty good grasp on all those intangibles. The staff members are friendly and helpful, and they won't look down their noses at you if you don't know to adjust that godawful derailleur. In fact, they're liable to talk you through how to fix it yourself, and they won't charge an arm and a leg for the service. They have plenty of the tangibles, too, from that tricked-out Trek you have your eye on to the hearty Long Haul Trucker that will get you through the winter.
