Stillwater

108 Main St. N., Stillwater, MN 55082
Want to see how the other 1 percent lives? Plan a shopping excursion to the well-to-do river burg of Stillwater, but focus your attention instead on the secondhand: the old, the used, the antique. If antiquing in Stillwater has you thinking of your grandma or of bed-and-breakfasting newlyweds, think again. This 1850s-era lumber town is a spot ripe for old, unique, and sometimes weird second-, third- or fifth-hand stuff, much of it affordably priced. In Stillwater you've got it all in one spot. The town's attractive Main Street is an antiquer's paradise, with over a dozen shops offering everything from that art deco wedding ring you'd been scouring town for to a collection of Zane Grey westerns to the gigantic neon sign from a 1950s-era burger joint. Oh, and if you are a newlywed bed-and-breakfast type, be sure to visit when the fall colors are peaking, and plan to brunch at one of the many eateries facing the river. It just doesn't get more romantic than this.
