    Josh's Delicatessen and Appetizing

Not even New York delicatessens are as authentic as Josh's. It's amazing to see thick cuts of house-cured pastrami gleaming with moisture and capped with ribbons of fat. The Angus brisket is cured for ten days, smoked, and then steamed; it evokes... More on Josh's Delicatessen and Appetizing »

  • El Pimiento

    El Pimiento

There is more to Miami Lakes, which is squeezed between Hialeah and Miramar, than residential neighborhoods, golf, and a shrine to sports legend Don Shula. Residents have been hiding a shopping-center tapas gem for almost four years. Complete... More on El Pimiento »

  • Oak Tavern

    Oak Tavern

Oak Tavern's wooden tables are worn -- their faded chocolate surfaces fashioned out of reclaimed lumber, their corners burnt with the logo of a majestic oak. Outside, a courtyard envelops the eponymous tree. Inside, the smell of fresh buttermilk... More on Oak Tavern »

  • Casa Panza Cafe

    Casa Panza Cafe

A Calle Ocho institution for decades and something of a tourist trap, Casa Panza is as much an entertainment destination as a place to enjoy Spanish cuisine and tapas -- think of this as Medieval Times for flamenco enthusiasts. From outside, it... More on Casa Panza Cafe »

    • South Florida's farm season is coming to a close, and now's the time to get your greens while the getting is good. At Love & Vegetables' pop-up dinner at Earth N' Us Farm this Saturday, you can dig into kale, collard greens, purslane and lots of other good-for-you stuff grown right in their garden. The event is by donation, and they're suggesting $50 per person or four hours of your time in volunteer trade. Pulling weeds in a garden is well worth a dinner this delicious. • The most perfect works of art are those suspended between conception and realization, the ones that seize you up with how great they're gonna be. (Well, those and Busby Berkeley numbers.) Alejandro Jodorowsky's daft, daring, surrealist, possibly impossible adaptation of Dune, Frank Herbert's spice-mining science-fiction novel that later proved unadaptable for David Lynch, enjoys that rare benefit of the doubt shared by Hitchcock's Kaleidoscope and Kubrick's Napoleon. It screens only in the warmest theater of them all: the minds of the... More on Coral Gables Art Cinema »
