Pascal's on Ponce
2611 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33134
(305) 444-2024
Pascal Oudin opened this 55-seater in 2000, after having wowed with fine French cooking at Grand Bay Café. Maybe "wowed" is the wrong word: Chef Oudin's cuisine is defined by subtle delicacy, an updated, understated take on country French fare. This includes a peerless duck terrine; wild salmon slow-poached in olive oil; and a fantastic baked Alaska with Grand Marnier meringue. A 3-course prix fixe lunch is currently just $22. Oudin learned his classic technique from the likes of Alain Ducasse, Roger Verge, and Jean-Louis Palladin (now you can say "wow!"). Pascal's has won New Time's Best Restaurant in Coral Gables in 2005; Best Restaurant for Intimate Conversation in 2006; Best Service in 2008; Best French Restaurant in 2009. It has also snared a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2007.
