Lucha VaVOOM is a mobile ringside spectacle that comes with masked Mexican wrestlers, wisecracking MCs and plenty of steamy stripper acts to help cool down a heated audience. Co-producers Liz Fairbairn and Rita D'Albert are alums of the Velvet Hammer burlesque revue, and their latest vampy, vaudeville-inspired production has both heroes and villains as luchadors in a wrestling ring, pitted against each other by a bloodthirsty crowd. The high-energy spectacle gets down 'n' dirty with trademark sexo y violencia, flinging blood, sweat and tassels — sometimes into the audience. Lucha VaVOOM's home base is at the Mayan Theater downtown, but these Mexican wrestling pros have sold out shows across the United States. It's safe to say they have the age-old Lucha Libre smackdown down to an art. 1038 S. Hill St., dwntwn.; luchavavoom.com.
