Located roughly between the iconic and long-defunct Frank's Highland Park Camera storefront and Fashion 21 (the first Forever 21 retail location, which is still very much in business, with its original moniker intact) is The Outlet. Appropriately inscribed "The Clearance Aisle" on its façade, the store inside is a little-known Highland Park gem that primarily sells overstock from Target but also carries product from JCPenney and CVS. Here you'll find such perennial Target fashion favorites as Merona, Liz Lange Maternity and GO International brand, as well as a wide range of housewares and assorted sundries. Perusing the store is akin to shopping the end-of-the-aisle red-tag clearance at your neighborhood Target, except this "Target" is cash-only and doesn't have dressing rooms. 5713 Figueroa St., Highland Park. —Melissa Faust
