Best Hair Salon

Like every other salon, Salon Pop and Barber Shop cuts hair and provides barber shaves, facials, mani-pedis and waxes. But what sets it apart is its aesthetic: It's both old and new, juxtaposing its retro décor with a fresh, hip vibe. The salon uses vintage dressers as hair-cutting stations, has a special barber station for straight-razor shaves—and offers PBR or wine while you wait for service, instead of the usual coffee and tea, regardless of whether your appointment is at 11 a.m. or 5 p.m. It feels kind of like the inside of your kooky grandmother's boudoir, and it wouldn't be unusual to get hugs after your service. It's an easy, anything-goes atmosphere that translates into the way they style your hair (cuts range from $20 to $65) and perform other services (mani-pedis are $30 to $70).
