Best Dresses

With its high ceilings, the lofted storefront at 1901 Main could have been a killer event space. But instead of hosting parties, Gown Gallery showcases party dresses. Thanks to the store's giant windows, passers-by need only look up to see a smart, barely formal dress one day and a scoop-neck bridal gown the next. Inside, plenty of natural light helps brides-to-be and prom-queen hopefuls see how eggshell lace works with their skin tone. The dressing rooms allow ample space for puffy skirts, and the staff doesn't hesitate to help with a back-zip bodice. Appointments are preferred, but on a slow day, the store's dressers are ready to help find the dress of someone's dreams.
