No one would have thought, while they watched Agora engulfed in flames on Halloween Eve of last year, that the coffee and wine hangout would be back on its feet within mere months, just in time for the spring and great patio weather. The beloved Montrose location looked like a lost cause after the fire, which began at the antique store just next door, but the owners went into action as soon as the smoke cleared. Now the bar is back to normal, there is always a food truck out front, there is a giant phoenix painted on the side of the bar and people are back to throwing back bottles of wine and espresso as if last October 30 never happened.

Amna Yes! This is one of my favorite spots in HTX. I was very sad when it burned down, but super excited when it reopened. This is where drinkers and non drinkers can come and enjoy each others company. Their coffee is great, excellent wine selection, and their beer is top quality (they even have Chimey) It's a comfortable, warm, cozy spot with the coolest juke box. Their decor an old books and yearbooks are great convo topics. On Wednesdays they have belly dancers and they're very fun to watch. I love bringing friends here, they immediately fall in love with the place and even come back without me.

Katie I finally managed to hit up this place with some friends since before the fire. I actually took them for the upstairs patio to be disappointed in the rebuilding they decided to not add that back. Agora still has a lot going for it; an amazing selection on the jukebox (the smiths were very appreciated) , a cozy atmosphere, and they even carry sinful vegan baked goods!
