Best Late Night Eats

Those who have ever waited in line at a fast food drive-through in the early-morning hours can testify to the lack of service and warm food you'll find since the A-team has checked out. But at Snookie's, it's all about good food and friendly service, even if you're asking for a chicken-fried steak at 1:50 a.m. The kitchen and full bar are open daily until 2 a.m. at both locations (Oak Lawn Avenue and Keller Springs Road), even on Christmas and Thanksgiving. The menu of diner favorites, including patty melts, hot sandwiches and five-dollar shakes (which are really $4), is more satisfying than any place with carhops on roller skates or three-taco specials.
