Walk through the front door of Jimmy’s Food Store and you're transported into another time and place. It feels like walking into the movie GoodFellas. Jimmy’s has everything you need to assemble an Italian feast: imported canned tomatoes, frozen ravioli and pizza dough, free-range chickens and cannoli shells. Head back to the deli counter for ethereally creamy fresh mozzarella, handmade sausages, meatballs, pasta sauces and more. The line at the sandwich counter can stretch halfway through the store at lunchtime — they do a decent pressed Cuban (15-minute cook time, so call ahead) but even better is the prosciutto panino, a generous portion of silky, thinly sliced meat layered with fresh tomato and the house-made mozz. Don't miss the wide selection of Italian cheeses and charcuterie or the massive wine aisle.
