Located on Cedar Springs in the Oak Lawn area, this popular bar has been remodeled and expanded three times since its opening in 1980. J.R's boasts three full bars -- two downstairs and another upstairs on its usually bustling covered patio/balcony. The patio makes for a great place to watch the basic hustle and bustle of a Friday or Saturday night on Cedar Springs as folks visit other nearby clubs, bars and restaurants, but expect huge crowds upstairs during events like the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Pride Parade and Festival.
